Gilbert "Mac" McLeod Bailey, Jr., age 64 of Clayton, formerly of Carthage, died Sunday (April 8, 2007) at City of Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Union Presbyterian Church, near Carthage, NC, conducted by the Rev. William A. Stewart, Jr.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of Gilbert M. Bailey and the late Ilene Blalock Bailey. A graduate of Carthage High School and East Carolina University, he served in the United States Air Force from 1963 thru 1966. He retired in 1998 after 27 years with the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Marr Bailey of the home; father Gilbert M. Bailey of Carthage; sister Rebecca Bailey of Carthage; brother David Bailey and wife Barbara of Sanford; two nephews Stephen and Matthew Bailey both of Sanford.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 —8:00 P. M. Tuesday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage.
