Gladys Garner Russell

Gladys G. Russell, 83, of Highfalls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday September 28th, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1st at Highfalls Friends Church, where she was a member, wtih Rev. Ben Hurley and Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Highfalls Friends Church, and other times at the home of daughter, Jayrene Maness, 553 Niagara Carthage Road, Carthage, NC.
Mrs. Russell was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Reynolds Garner. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, J. C. Russell, one graddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Maness, and her nine brothers and sisters.
She is survivied by her daughter, Jayrene R. Maness, and husband William J. Maness, Jr. of Carthage, one grandchild, Anna Maness, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Church family at Highfalls Friends Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highfalls Friends Meeting Cemetery fund, P. O. Box 3, Highfalls, NC 27259.
