gloria brooks

July 28, 1958 ~ January 20, 2024

Born in: Santiago, Chile
Resided in: Chapel Hill, NC

Gloria Segal Brooks, age 65, of Chapel Hill North Carolina, passed away Sabbath evening, January 20, 2024, at UNC Hospitals and is now resting in Jesus, until He comes again.

Born in Santiago, Chile, she was a daughter of the late Bernardo and Benilde Segal. Gloria was fond of sharing that she was of Jewish heritage and that she loved Jesus the Messiah.

On June 8, 1997, she married her soulmate Ron Brooks and from that time forward they were inseparable. Where you saw one you saw the other. Her three children, her three grandchildren, her seven siblings, church family, cooking, art, and firstly her God, were the passions and love of her life.

Gloria and Ron both shared a fervor for giving invitations to the Kingdom of God through sharing the Seventh-day Adventist end time message. They also enjoyed giving Bible studies, encouraging many to forge a saving relationship with Jesus the Christ. Gloria’s first and final membership was with the Pittsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church. She and Ron also enjoyed many years in between, as members of the Greensboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In addition to her husband Ron, she is survived by two sons; Iuval Goldin and Dan Ioav Goldin and wife Sarah; a step-son Dietrich Brooks and his fiancé Beverly Massey, and her daughters Bella and Serena; siblings Mauricio Segal, Illan Segal, Max Segal, Hugo Segal, Miriam Guilad, Patty Segal, Ilana Shuler; grandchildren Gavin and Nicholas Brooks, Eleanor (Eli) Sofia Goldin.

Today’s memorial service date would have been Ron and Gloria’s 27th wedding anniversary.

Fry & Prickett Funeral Home is serving the Brooks family.

  1. Oh, me! We are so sorry to hear of Gloria’s passing. She will always be remembered in our hearts as being as Christ would have us….tender of heart, caring, and loving as God the Father loves us. We are very appreciative that she crossed our paths.
