Hazel Garner Morgan, 94, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. 

 

Hazel was a graduate of Westmoore High School. She worked in textiles, retiring from Southern Garment in Robbins. Hazel was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She always placed her family’s needs above her own.  Her nature was one of serving and giving to others.  She was a wonderful cook, who also enjoyed eating sweets herself, especially coconut cake.  Hazel was the oldest member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, she always lived her faith and made sure her children were brought up in church. Hazel loved music, played the piano by ear and enjoyed singing, she was part of a church trio at one time.  She was always active in the church, in her younger years, she helped in caring for the church buildings.  Hazel enjoyed being outdoors and time spent walking was always important to her. She was a daughter of the late William Curtis and Mary Hussey Garner and was preceded in death by husband, Waldo Morgan; grandson: Joey Welch; 10 siblings. 

 

Hazel is survived by daughter: Kathy Welch and husband Darrell; sons: Mike Morgan and wife Brenda; Mark Morgan; grandchildren: Jenna Nelson and husband Jason, Christie Kleinmann and husband Craig, Sarah LaDuke, Bryce Morgan, Brantley Morgan, Lana Morgan; great grandchildren: Kinsley, Caleb, Morgan, Pax, Jase, Jada, Dayton, Emeri; many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

The Morgan family would like to offer a special thanks to all of the nurses and caregivers who have helped care for their mother, grandmother and great grandmother  over the last several years. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, 288 Acorn Ridge Road, Robbins, NC 27325 or FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.

 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. John Williamson, Reverend Edwin Moore, Reverend David Brown and Reverend Greg Allison officiating. The family is receiving friends at the home.
