Helen Marion Wolfe, age 94, died Wednesday at Firsthealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday (October 28, 2012) at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Ussery officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery in Sanford.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late William M & Bertha Chapman Cooper. She was a star basketball player at Cameron School and attended Campbell College. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy M Marion and Kemp Russell Wolfe and a son, Roy Leonard Marion; sisters, Lois Moses & Sybil Marsh ; brothers, Clyde Cooper, Fred Cooper, Harold Cooper and Jake Cooper and step-daughter, Linda Wolfe..
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela M Darnell & husband, Jerry of Westmoore; a son, William M Marion & wife, Debra of Carthage; daughter-in-law, Edna Marion of Carthage; step children, Kay Brown & husband, Ken of Pawleys Island, SC, Gary Wolfe & wife, Kathy of Lexington, Ronnie Wolfe & wife, Judi of Greensboro and Charles Wolfe of Raleigh; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Bennett, Sherrie Bennett, Meranda Marion, Randall Marion, John Marion, Rodney Marion, Vernon Marion, Chris Marion, Brent Marion, Brandon Marion, Butch Bennett and Justin Bennett; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home.
