Henry G. Garner 94, of 2331 North Moore Road, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Pinelake Rehabilitation Facility.
Graveside service will be held at the Garner Family Cemetery on North Moore Road, Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Darren Richardson officiating.
Mr. Garner was born September 9, 1916, the son of the late James Hampton and Fannie Chandler Garner. The family had 15 children. He was a lifelong carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lillian Horner Garner, son; Tommy Garner, daughters; Carol Jean and Patsy Grace, grandchildren; Tina Ritter and Billy McNeill.
He is survived by daughters; Thelma Ritter, of Star, Helen Ritter and husband Billy, Betty McNeill and husband Causie, Peggy Hussey of Robbins, Margaret McNeill and husband Sam, Geraldine Wright and husband David, of Star, son: Johnny and wife Susan, of Robbins, sister: Larry Marie Garner of Robbins. Mr. Garner was blessed with 90 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6- 8 PM on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Kennedy Funeral Home.
