Howard Martin 'Moe' Johnson, age 54, died Tuesday at his residence after a long courageous fight..

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday at Pineywood Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Calhoun and the Rev. Dave Stout officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the church cemetery.

A native of Moore County, he was the son of Martin Johnson and the late Camillus A Johnson. A devout Christian man who loved and cared for his family, he was a US Army veteran and owned and operated Howard Johnson's Painting for 26 years.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Linda Sheffield Johnson; three sons, Zachary George & wife, Abigail of Golden, CO; Chris Chisholm & wife, Katie of Carthage; and Jamie Chisholm; a daughter, Amy Johnson of South Carolina; two sisters, Sherry Johnson Poindexter & husband, Laurence of Sanford and Vicky Lawrence of New York; six grandchildren, Kyle, Nicole, Cierra, Kayla, Krista and Kara; several nieces and nephews and his beloved Chihuahua Miley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
