Ina Sue Parks

Ina Sue Parks, 79, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines.
Born on July 31, 1945, in Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Clunette and Marion Hinnant Petree.
Ina served in the United States Army for 2 years as a dental assistant. She also worked for various companies including Ithaca and Magneti Marelli. Ina enjoyed going to yard sales, bingo nights and loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Carthage where she taught Sunday school classes and loved all the children of the church.
She was preceded in death by her inlaws: Barbara and Ron Hager and Rick Parks.
Ina is survived by her husband of 59 years: Dennis Elwood Parks of Carthage; daughters: Kathy Slate of Carthage and Denise Edmonds and husband Lee of Carthage; sister: Norma Rother and husband Hank of AZ; grandson: Justin Edmonds and wife Sarah of Robbins; God grandchildren: Luke and Rylee Kamer; great granddaughter: Maeve Edmonds; inlaws: Nancy Creech and husband Bill, Margie Parks, Robin Creech and husband Bob; close family friends: Lynn Kamer, Bonnie Brown, Alma Jean Gaster and Jimmy Bowles.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 3 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Carthage with Rev. Rick Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in the church’s Family Life Center. The family will also receive friends at the church from 1-7 pm Tuesday and 11-4 on Wednesday prior to the visitation.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph of the Pines for all the love and assistance in Ina’s care.
