Ingeborg Elsa “Inge” Seiter, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on February

Inge was born in Germany and was the daughter of the late Eduard and Elsa Bender Weber.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward “Eddie” Seiter; granddaughter, Anna Rose Aklus; brother, Klaus Weber; and sisters, Amelie Waclawik and Irmgard Schmidt.

Inge immigrated to the United States at an early age and utilized her skills as a seamstress to work in the textile industry.  She was filled with a spirit of determination and recognized for her impressive attendance and performance records. She made clothing for her children and beloved Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, her
hands were rarely idle.

Inge will be remembered for her surprising sense of humor and caring heart. When she was with her family, she simply loved having fun; whether that was at her surprise “Inge Fest” 70th birthday party, her visits to Germany, or her escapades in North Carolina backyards.  Inge will forever be remembered as an amazing mother, Oma, Oma-Oma, and Aunt.  She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Grant, and her husband, Stephen, of Williamsburg, Virginia and Susan Aklus, of Robbins, North Carolina; sister, Elsbeth Hermer, of Germany; three grandchildren, Stephen M. Grant, Jr. (Tiffany), Anneliese Grant (Matt), and Cody Aklus (Melanie); and five great-grandchildren, Amelie, Adeline, Wesley, Sadie, and Liana; nieces and nephews and special niece Ulla Schmidt.

The family would also like to recognize and thank Inge’s caregivers, Kathy, Chris, and
