Irene Eunice Banks Tise was born October 25, 1947 in Bad Kissingen, Germany to William Joseph Banks, Jr. and Zita Barbara Pfeuffer Banks.  After a long battle with cancer Mrs. Tise went to sleep on November 28, 2017 knowing that her Redeemer lives and that He will raise her up again when He returns soon.

Mrs. Tise was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, having served her church and her Lord in numerous offices and capacities. She loved children and youth and ministered to them for many years. She had a faith that carried her daily and encouraged others besides.

Irene retired from Wake Forest Baptist University School of Medicine after serving that institution for 35 years as the Admissions Officer for medical school student admissions.

Mrs. Tise was preceded in death by her parents William Banks and Zita Banks. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Roger F. Tise, Sr., daughter Angela Tise Sampson (Terry), son Roger F. Tise II (Merritt), grandchildren Edward Andrew Sampson, Alyssa Meredith Sampson, Roger F. Tise III (Tripp), and Henry Tobin Tise. She is also survived by brother Vernon Joseph Banks (Angie) and sister Barbara Banks Evins (Lee), plus many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life and Funeral Service will be conducted at the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church 896 Old Winston Road Kernersville, NC on Sunday December 3, 2017. Viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. with the service following at 2:00. Interment will be at the Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery in Kernersville. An opportunity to visit with the family in the church Family Life Center of the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church.will be after the internment.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christian Education Worthy Student Fund of the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Tise family is being served by Fry-Prickett Funeral Home located in Carthage, NC.
