Irona Vaughn Stanley, age 95 of Carthage passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

 

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Wednesday at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Scott Innis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service begining at 11:00.  

 

A native of Surry County she was a daughter of the late Chester and Etta Collins Vaughn. She was a homemaker and a longtime faithful member of Red Branch Baptist Church. Irona was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Stanley, Jr. and a sister Irene Rollins.

 

She is survived by her daughters Judy Boyd of Winston Salem, Sandra Gibbs and husband Joe of Newnan, GA; sons Michael Stanley and wife Mary Lib of Carthage, Ronnie Stanley and wife Lola of Sanford; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
