Irvin Priest

Irvin L. Priest, age 84 of Priest Hill Road, died Saturday (April 29, 2006) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Archie R. and Mary Fields Priest. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a 60 year member of Joseph G. Henson Post of the American Legion. He served Priest Hill Presbyterian Church as Sunday School Superintendent for over 40 years and was a deacon and elder emeritus of the church. Active in the Pinehurst business community until his retirement in 1990, he was Vice-President of Pinehurst Hardware.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P. M. Monday at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Archie Stevens. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Vest Priest; two brothers Joe Priest of Carthage and Archie 'Mack' Priest of Asheboro.
The family received friends 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. Sunday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage.
