Southern Pines NC Isabella Wanamaker Cummings Zimmerman, 92, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at St. Josephs of the Pines in Southern Pines. A memorial service will be held January 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Health Center Chapel at St Joseph's of the Pines 103 Gossman Drive, Southern Pines NC, with a short reception to follow. Isabella was born on April 10, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, and was predeceased by her parents, James and Isabella Cummings, her brother, James H. Cummings, and two of her children, a daughter, Louise Kelley, and a son, Lawrence Kelley. She is survived by her son, Britton Kelley and wife Gloria of Asheville, NC, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her lifelong love of horse riding, showing, and hunting was part of her reason for moving to Southern Pines in 1980, where she has resided ever since. She remained involved in the horse community, and freely gave her time and resources to this passion, as well as to the Humane Society, and dog visitation to rest homes. She also was involved in the Presbyterian church and Bible study. Powell Funeral Home and Crematory of Southern Pines is assisting the family.
