J. Garland Garner

Garland Garner 88, of 439 Arthur Road, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at ManorCare Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Smyrna United Methodist Church where he was a life long member, with Reverend Tal Madison, Reverend Edwin Moore and Reverend Clarence Garner officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the church cemetery.
Mr. Garner served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a poultry farmer and also worked in the textile industry. He loved to sing in the church choir at Smyrna.
Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Hussey Garner, brother, Paul Garner and infant brother, Calvin Eugene Garner.
He is survived by sister, Gladys Spivey, of Robbins, brother, Vernon Garner and wife Betty of Robbins and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and at other times at 985 N. Howards Mill Road, Robbins.
