James Baxter Ray, Jr. was born September 25, 1977 and passed away on October 1, 2016.

 

Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, October 7, 2016 at Robbins First Baptist Church, with Reverend Bryan Maness and Reverend David Bibey officating. Burial will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery.

 

James was a graduate of North Moore High School.  He received his Bachelors in Elementary Education and his Masters in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University.  He was a teacher at Robbins Elementary School and participated in the Envision Experience, Vienna, VA.

 

He is survived by his wife: Kimberly McNeill Ray and step son: Hagan Pace of the home; parents: Jim and Judy Ray of Robbins; sister in law and brother in laws: Sonya and Mike Early, of Eagle Springs, Billy and Eva McNeill, of Monroe; nephews: Mikey Early, Will and Eli McNeill; mother in law: Sharon McNeill and father in law Clarence (Sonny) McNeill.

 

James passion was teaching.  His main focus was to educate children.  He was a wonderful teacher because he cared so much for the students. James really believed in each one. His heart was so big.  In coaching he made the kids believe in themselves.  His legacy will live on through each student and player he touched.  He will be greatly missed.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, October 6. 2106 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at others time at the home on Emma Lane or 620 Simmons Road, Robbins, NC.

 

In lieu of flowers make a donation to the James Ray Jr. Foundation at Robbins Elementary School, 268 Rushwood Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
