James Carl Shields 67, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. John Williamson and Reverend Edwin Moore officiating.
James was born March 14, 1949, in Moore County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr and Mrs. Robert Shields, brothers: W. C. Shields, Frank Shields, Paul Shields; sisters: Laverne Shields Ritter, Vera Mae Shields Maness.
James is survived by brother: Clyde Shields; sister: Clara Louise Shields, of Robbins.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Acorn Ridge Baptist Church cemetery fund, 288 Acorn Ridge Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
The body will lie in state at Kennedy Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
