James Cranford “JC” Hussey 91, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

 

JC was a native of Moore County and a graduate of Elise High School.  He worked in the textile industry for 45 years and then was a Courier for FirstBank in retirement.  JC was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He loved being outdoors, rabbit hunting, caring for his yard and garden.   A humble man of faith, he loved the Lord and his church.  JC was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class and Methodist Men at Smyrna United Methodist Church. He was always there for work days at the church and was in charge of the cemetery for many years.  Although he did not serve in the military, one of his honors for years was the placing of United States Flags on the graves of veterans buried at Smyrna. JC loved his family and was especially proud of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. JC lived his faith and was always ready to help others.

 

JC was a son of the late Ollie W. and Fleta Williams Hussey and was preceded in death by  sister: Arlene Hussey Maness; brothers: Billy Hussey, Russell Hussey.  

 

JC is survived by his wife of 72 years,  Nora “Teenie” Stutts Hussey;  son: Farrell Hussey and wife Sandy;  grandchildren: James Hussey and wife Christina,  Jared Hussey and wife Jamie; great grandchildren: Jaxon, Jimmy, Abigail; many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Graveside service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021  at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the  Reverend James Brewer officiating.

 

The body will lie in state from 4:00  to 6:00 PM, Saturday, June 5, 2021 and from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Sunday June 6, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

 

Memorials may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P O Box 1661, Robbins, NC 27325.

  3. Thanks for the pumpkins. Never knew Mr. Hussey, even though he only lived a couple of miles from us, but knowing the kind of man he raised in Farrell he had to be a good man. God bless his family.

  5. JC was my first cousin and my next door neighbor, I knew him all my life as a kind humble gentleman caring and thoughtful of others as well as his family! I will always remember his sweet smile and hard work ethic willing to share his bountiful gardens! God has truly blessed you, may you Rest In Peace! Prayers for all the family, I love you all!

  6. Sorry for your loss Farrell, JC was a great person. You probably don’t remember me but I worked with you guys at Gayley and Lord as the size man. My son sent me the notice since he lives in the USA and I reside in Australia. May God Bless you all
