James Curtis Presley, Sr., age 87 of 301Holly Street passed away on Wednesday (April 8, 2009) at First Health of the Carolinas in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Carthage on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. J. Billy Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Love Presley; his son, Jim Presley. He retired as a supervisor for DOT after 38 years of service. He was a member of Carthage First Baptist Church for 65 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Presley of Carthage; his loving companion, Foy Jean Wall of Carthage; a sister, Frances Jean Martin of Calera, Alabama; and a brother, Roger Presley of Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home and at other times at 702 Walnut Street in Carthage.
