James 'Shortblock' Morgan, age 74 , died Monday (6/25/2012) at Pinehurst Health & Rehab in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday (6/27/2012) at Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church with The Rev. Archie Stevens officiating.
James was born August 6, 1937 in Robbins. He started working as a mechanic in 1964. Later in 1990 he started his own business, Morgan's Auto Repair, with his son, John working by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maggie McKenzie Morgan; a daughter, Beth Cylc & husband, Keith of Sanford; two sons, Scott Morgan & wife, Shannon of Pittsboro and John Morgan & wife, Debby of West End; three grandchildren, Cody, James and Alanda Morgan;sisters, Pearl Dowd & husband, Jimmy of Carthage; Mildred Spangler & husband, Bobby of Aberdeen; Margaret Luck & husband, Billy of Aberden; a brother, J. P. Sturdivant & wife, Peggy of Robbins; foster siblings, Pearl Fry of West End and Earl Smith of Kannapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doubs Chapel UMC, PO Box 522, West End, NC 27376.
