James M. “Jimmy” Bass, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20, 2016, at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by his family.

  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Unity Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend Jason Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery.  

 

Jimmy served his country in the United States Army National Guard.  He worked for over 60 years as an electrician and owning his own business for many of those years. He was an active member of Unity Grove Church, a Mason, loved NASCAR and served the community in Red Springs and Robbins, for 40 years as a volunteer Rescue Squad member.  Jimmy loved spending time with all his family. He was a son of the late Clyde Bass and Pearl Bass Bowen and was preceded in death by wife: Bobbie Bass; brother: Tommy Bass.

  Jimmy is survived by wife: Joyce Moore Bass, of the home, daughter: Joannie Leigh Moore and husband Danny, of Bear Creek; son: Tony Bass, of Robbins; grandchildren: Lt. Macon Moore, USAF, Megan Adams, Krystal Yow, Kristen Clayton; 3 great grandchildren; sister: Wanda Russell and husband James, of Clemmons; brother: Jerry Bass, of Texas and many friends.

  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

  Memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC or charity of your choice.
