James L. Thomas, age 71 of Carthage, died Monday (June 22, 2009) at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Carthage conducted by the Rev. Tom Herndon.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late James P. and Nell Deese Thomas and was a US Army Veteran where he worked in the Intelligence Security Force. He taught school at Lee Senior High School and Central Carolina Community College and was a licensed Electrician. He was preceded in death by: his brother Don Thomas and grandson Logan Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife of 50 years Elizabeth Cockman Thomas; daughter June Davis and husband Timothy; sons Christopher Thomas and wife Robin, all of Carthage, Scott Thomas and wife Bobbie Jo of Seagrove five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home fro 6:00 —8:00 PM Tuesday and other times at the residence.
