James R. "JR" Black, age 54 of 164 Jeffers Lane died Tuesday, (December 11, 2007) at the residence of his cousin Christy Hardy in West End.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Beulah Hill Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor Eugene Ussery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Neil Black and Ollie Foster Black. He worked for many years at Glendon Prophyllitte Rock Quarry and also for JP Stevens.
He is survived by: wife Ada Frances Black; sisters Brenda Wilkes of Carthage, Barbara Jean Cooke and husband Lanney of Lemon Springs; step-daughter Deborah Venable of Carthage; step-granddaughter Debbie Lynn Venable; nieces Beamon Williams, Angela Haire, Barbara Thomas; nephew Timothy Wilkes.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
