Janet Ann Sutter

Janet Sutter, age 92, went to her heavenly home on Saturday February 25 th 2017. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family.

Jan was born in Altoona PA on January 20 th 1925. She was the fourth of five children. She is preceded in death by her parents Frederick Sutter and Ann Kennedy Sutter, her brother Fred Sutter of Greensburg, PA, and her sisters Dorothy Taylor of Wilmington, DE, and Joan Gessler of St Petersburg, FL.

She is survived by her younger brother Richard Sutter of Altoona, PA. She is also survived by her son John, her daughter in law Teresa, granddaughters Kristin and Jessie as well as a great-granddaughter Maya.

Jan graduated from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson PA with a degree in Medical Technology. Following graduation she worked at the Harrisburg PA hospital. In 1953 she relocated to the Sandhills Area of NC to continue her career and where she spent the majority of her adult life. In 1994 she moved to Raleigh NC to be close to her son and his family.

Jan had a love for life and especially enjoyed meeting and getting to know new people. She was active in her Church and a member of several senior clubs. She enjoyed traveling on many Senior Trips. She always had a love for cats. Her most recent cat was Ethan who already misses her.

A service will be held Thursday March 2 nd at Asbury Church 6612 Creedmoor Road Raleigh NC . A viewing will begin at 11am followed by services at 11:30am. Pastor Terry Bryant will conduct the memorial service. Burial will be at 3:00pm at the Pinebluff Cemetery in Pinebluff NC.
