Janett Elizabeth Nelson, 86, of Robbins, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.
Born on November 4, 1937, in Rockingham, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Margaret Cameron Norris.
Janett had many roles; mother, sister, homemaker, seamstress, but her most proud title was author. She loved to write letters, poems, novels and even published 3 books of her own. Janett loved her family more than anything and was so proud of each one of them. She was a member at First Baptist Church of Robbins and loved the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Sherry Hoeppner; son: Roger Kinlaw; brothers: Jack, Cecil, Glen; sisters: Daisy and Lucille; grandson: Timothy.
Janett is survived by her children: Michael Gerald Douglas (Sherry) of Camden, SC and Harriet C. McCaskill (Ike) of Robbins; sisters: Becky, Faye, Myra, Margery; grandchildren: Georgia, Elizabeth, Larry(Tonia), Beth(Ricky), Klavin(Sam), Levi(Katlyn), Riley, Jason, Kevin(Glenda); 12 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Robbins. The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship after the service at Tabernacle Church in Robbins.
