Jerry Lee Southers, 81 passed away September 13, 2019 at Pine Lake Nursing Home in Carthage.
He was born in Ironton, Ohio October 24, 1937, and was a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeannine (Snyder) Southers of Southern Pines, son Darin Southers of Aberdeen, daughter Nina Drinko of Coshocton, Ohio, grandson Morgan A. (Charli) Landis of West Lafayette, Ohio, 3 step-grandchildren, Aliyah, Adison and Pyper Guthrie of West Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Southers, son Devin Southers and son-in-law Deaver Drinko.
Fry & Prickett Funeral Home of Carthage are handling arrangements per his wishes with Marshall University to have his body donated to science.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
