Jerry Winford Sheffield, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born in Moore County to the late Donnie and Nettie Moore Sheffield. He graduated from Elise High School. Jerry worked in the textile industry at Klopman Mills and Carthage Fabrics. In retirement, he opened Jerry’s Thrift Shop on Plank Road in Robbins. Jerry had many friends that visited the thrift shop regularly. Jerry was preceded in death by sons: Jason Sheffield, Steven “Big Boy” Sheffield, Christopher McCaskill.

Jerry leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Clara Tyner Sheffield; son: Kenneth W. Sheffield (Dawn); grandchildren: CJ McCaskill, Logan McCaskill, Chloe Lamb; brother: DA Sheffield (Pat); many brothers and sisters in law; nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Friday, July 31, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Edwin Moore. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2 to 5 PM, Thursday, July 30, 2020 and on Friday, July 31, 2020 prior to the service at Kennedy Funeral Home.
