Jimmy Gilbert Sanders, 59, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jimmy was born November 29, 1965 to the late Howard and Arlene Clark Sanders. He worked for Mansion Homes for many years. He also worked for many individuals in the community, he was a people person and was always ready to help. Jimmy was a football fan, with his favorite team being the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. Jimmy was a good softball player for many years on community teams. He loved his granddaughters very much. He made fish baskets, “rabbit boxes” and loved to shoot the “bean shooter”, to share his love of the outdoors with them. Jimmy had a big heart, especially for children of all ages. He also enjoyed reading his Bible and could quote many verses by heart. .
Jimmy is survived by his daughter: Jessica Dunn (Garland); granddaughters: Madison, Caroline; siblings: Linda Shaw (Frank), Michael Sanders, Brenda Vest, Harold Clark (Pat), Barbara Stoneman (Clayton), Betty Saunders, Helen Chriscoe; his faithful dog “Little Girl”; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Smyrna Church, with Reverend Clayton Stoneman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at noon.
The family would like to thank the friends that have reached out to Jimmy during his illness.
Memorials may be made to assist the family with final expenses.
