Joann Sheffield Valk, of Robbins, NC passed away on April 30th, 2022 at the age of 69 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Tyler Valk; mother, Janie Sheffield; brothers, Floyd Sheffield, Johnny Sheffield, and Wayne Sheffield; and sister, Ruby Garner all of Robbins.

She is survived by her son, James Valk (Carrie); children, Casey, Caleb, and Kaleigh Valk; and daughter Sonya Drabenstot (Chad); children, Keithan and Caden Sanderson; and sister Pearl Cockman.

Joann graduated from North Moore High School in the Class of 1970. She worked at Klaussner Furniture for 20 years before retiring. Joann was also a licensed beautician for over 30 years.

She loved sewing, crafts, spending time with the grandchildren, and attending and participating in craft shows. She was an active member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on May 4th, 2022 at Browns Chapel in Robbins, NC with Pastor James Valk and Rev. Bryan Maness officiating. The family will receive family and friends in the fellowship hall after the services are concluded.
