John 'Lester' Wallace

John Lester Wallace, age 83 of Carthage died Friday (October 27, 2017) at Peak Resource - Pinelake in Carthage.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Quinby Lewis and Annie Savannah Barber Wallace. Lester worked in textiles most of his life and later with Moore County Solid Waste at their Midway location and always enjoyed the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by a son Ronald Wallace; sisters Muriel Troxler and Pauline Marley; brother Paul Wallace; great-granddaughter Lyla Chaundhary.
He is survived by daughters Jackie Tyson and husband Tommy of Whispering Pines, Denise Peterson and husband Mike of Randleman; sons Dale Wallace and wife Teresa of Robbins, Brian Wallace of Sanford; brother Rufus Wallace and wife Doris of Carthage; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday.
