John Wilbert “Dee” Moore, 79,  died Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family.

 

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend James Cockram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Dee was a native of Moore County, born December 2, 1935. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dee made every effort to provide for and protect his family. He worked at Robbins Mill until it closed and was part owner in Asheboro Machine Shop.  He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved deer hunting.

 

Dee was a son of the late Rancie and Nora Scott Moore . He was preceded in death by brothers: Howard Moore, Paul Moore, sister: Louise M. Maness.

 

Dee is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rachel; daughters: Gail Wilson and husband Danny, Johnna Davis and husband Bryan, son: Rickie Moore, grandchildren: Sarah Parsons and husband Matthew, Jared Wilson, Caleb Wilson, Charlotte Davis, Annie Davis, great grandson: Thomas Parsons.   

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2014  at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

 

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Needhams Grove Church Building Fund, 359 Needham Grove Road, Seagrove, NC 27341.
