John W. Wood, Jr. of 463 Hall Road, Robbins and formerly of Carthage died Wednesday (December 20, 2006) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Charles Lassiter. Burial will follow in Cross Hill Cemetery.
A native of Surry County, he was a son of the late John William and Ellen Bryant Wood. He retired from Carthage Fabrics after 41 years of service. His first wife Mattie Nunnery Wood preceded him in death.
He is survived by: his wife of 15 years Johnsie Cockman Wood; stepdaughter Carolyn H. Frye and husband Jimmy of Carthage, stepsons Ray Hall and wife Teresa of Robbins, Darrell Hall of Robbins; six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Carolyn and Jimmy Frye, 1872 Joel Road, Carthage.
