Joseph Brooks Mashburn

Joseph Brooks Mashburn, 88, of Carthage, passed away on Friday, March, 3, 2023 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Born in Moore County, on February 1, 1935 he was a son of the late L. Brooks and Jennie Dowd Mashburn.
Joseph worked in textiles for many years. He was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan, he enjoyed eating at Pete’s Restaurant in Carthage, and loved to watch Western movies.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his siblings: Angie Maude Oldham, Mary Sue Garner, Leon Mashburn, and Larry Mashburn.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years: Sherry Mashburn; daughter: Melinda Mashburn; brother: Jerry Mashburn; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 3 PM at Putnam Friends Church in Carthage with Pastor Robert Kidd and Pastor James Brewer officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
