Joseph Stephen Morgan

Joseph Stephen Morgan, age 79, of Gallipolis, Ohio died Wednesday, February 26th at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A native of Moore County, he was the last of 10 children born to the late Elder Van Morgan and Cora Ida Williams Morgan. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Morgan was a self employed electrician by trade.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Smith Morgan; daughters Beatrice Morgan of Pomeroy, Ohio, Donna Sue Benefield of Georgia, Virginia Gail Brinson of Ohio; sons, Joseph S. Morgan, Jr. of Ohio, Maxwell Morgan of Georgia and Reuben Morgan of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and special friend, Jean Roseberry..

The family will receive friends at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. The Rev. Murray Benefield, US Army Retired will provide closing remarks followed by military honors. Burial will be Noon,Wednesday, March 5, in Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, North Carolina.
