Josephine E. Smith

Josephine (Josie) Elizabeth Smith, 94, died Wednesday May 12, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday May 15th at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Homesley and Rev. Pam Northrup officiating.
Born May 12, 1916 in Bridgeport, CT she was a daughter of the late Augustus J. and Sarah McNiven Adams and wife of the late John B. Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister Alice Swanick.
Mrs. Smith was a Registered Nurse for Stamford and St. Josephs Hospitals as well as The Smith House of Stamford and Stamford public schools, she is a member in standing with the Rebecca Assembly of the Connecticut Odd Fellows, Stamford Nurses Alumni Association in Stamford, CT, and a past volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pauline VanDerheyden and Lucille C. Smithers, one son Charles R. Ryba all of Aberdeen, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
