Josephine (Jo) C. Sheer

Josephine Catherine Perry (Jo) Sheer, 92, of Sanford, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at her home.

She was born in Burlington, Iowa, and had 10 siblings, and later moved to California, where she lived until she met and married Jack Sheer in 1948.

They moved to Washington, D.C., and finally settled in Sanford in 1957. She was happily married for 63 years.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Sheer and his wife, Linda, of Southern Pines, and Joel Sheer, of Chapel Hill; and granddaughter Catherine Kliegle, of Winston-Salem.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1089 Wilkins Drive, Sanford.
