Josephine Wilkes Purvis 73, of 1878 Wilson Road, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her residence.
Ms. Purvis was born in Hoke County. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Her parents Joseph and Bessie Chavis Wilkes preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sister, Doris Hussey and husband Grady of Robbins, sister of the heart, Maggie Mashburn of Robbins, dear friend, Dee Kendrick, nieces, Judy Wilkes of High Point, Kay Wilkes of Sacramento, California, Deborah Wilkes of South Carolina, nephews, Grant Wilkes Jr. and David Wilkes of Cramerton, Gene Wilkes of Virginia, Jim McDonald of Aberdeen, Floyd 'Bill' McDonald of Wilmington, Joe Ford of Hamlet and Eddie Wilkes of Burlington.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
