Juanita Scott Maness 77, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family.

 

Funeral service will be held at  2:00  PM , December 31, 2014 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend James Cockram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Juanita was a native of Moore County, born December 30, 1936. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Juanita was a faithful member of Needhams Grove Church.  She worked in textiles and loved doing crafts, especially floral arrangements, many of her arrangements were used for local memorial day celebrations.  She also enjoyed attending local craft fairs.  Family trips to the beach were always special to her. Juanita loved her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

 

Juanita was a daughter of the late Claude and Ella Moore Scott . She was preceded in death by her husbands; Carol Britt and JL Maness,  sister; Kathleen Abdo.

 

Juanita is survived by daughter: Sherri Maness, of the home; son: Gary Maness and wife Renee, of Siler City, daughter: Leah Ritter and husband Rodney, of Seagrove; grandchildren: Wendy Dunlap, Dana Dunlap and Brian Ritter; great-grandchildren, Kendale Wilson, Josiah Dunlap, Aron Sutton, Austin Dunlap, Joseph Britt and Morgyn Ritter and 2 great-great-grandchildren; Imae and Elly;   sisters: Judy Burns, Geneva Dunlap, Betsy Hussey;  brother: Walter “Buster” Scott   

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2014  at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

 

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice  300 West Pennsylvania Ave. Southern Pines, NC  28387
