Juanita "Neet" Marsh Goins

Juanita Marsh Goins more affectionally known as “Neet,” 92, a long-time resident of Carthage transitioned to enteral life on Wednesday October 12, 2022.   Neat was born June 6, 1930, one of thirteen to the late Ralph and Louvenia Marsh.  

Juanita received her education from the Moore county public school system at  Pickney High School, the only one in her family to graduate.  She was a devoted and faithful member of Ingram Branch Church where she freely and gladly gave of herself no matter what, a hug, a squeeze or food for thought each Sunday.  Neet was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She worked cleaning houses which she loved to do, but the people she worked for was not her employers but family: Mr. Nelson Frye (Eyda), Mrs. Kay Wilson (Dan) and Mr. Brian Morris (Lisa).      

She loved the lord and her church where she briefly taught Sunday school but was the Adult Sunday School secretary until her transition. She loved working in her yard, with her flowers, picking berries, peas, grapes or whatever the season offered, she even enjoyed pulling the weeds because she said it opened up the earth for new life.  She loved to read, She loved to share any encouraging word from the Bible or from a book she had found, a poem or even her quick wit.  She also loved to surprise her family with a special dish she had found in one of the many cookbooks she loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Frank Goins, siblings Ben, Gilliam, James, Elbert, Leonard, Burt, Chattie Mae, Thelma, Radie, Minnie, Dorothy, and Arnetta.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Denise Goins-Williams (Harold)of the home, James Lawrence “Lonnie” Marsh (Valerie) of West End, Theresa Lloyd of Aberdeen. 8 Grandchildren- “Trey” Harold Williams III and Nevaeh Williams of the home, Shayne Barber (Amber)of Carthage, Tracey Eva Russell of St. Augustine, Florida, Eric (Lilian) of Frederiksberg, Virginia, Jamella Dudley of Norcross, Georgia. Bobbie Lloyd-Harris of Winston Salem, Billy Graham of Aberdeen, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. One brother-in-law Mitchell “Mick” Goins of Southern Pines, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ingram Branch Presbyterian Church in West End with Rev. Fred Goins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday October 17, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage.
