June Duerksen-Falls, a resident of Belle Meade Retirement Community in Southern Pines, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. June was born on July 12, 1917 in Jewell, Kansas to Raymond and Effie Lou Ellsworth, now deceased. June lived a joyous life with love of family, music, literature, and service to others.
June was married to Peter A. Duerksen for sixty years until he passed away in April, 1996. She is survived by three children. Roger Lee and wife Susan K. residing in Hardeeville, SC and Pittsburgh, PA. Dennis Rae and wife Sandra residing in Aiken, SC. Diana June and husband Eric Santos residing in Pittsburgh, PA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and sister, Margaret Beardmore, who lives in Carroll, Iowa. Her sister Ruth Kerr preceded June in death.
While living at Belle Meade, June married Col. Bruce Falls (Ret.), who is now deceased. June
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. June was a great lady; she was a wonderful and supportive volunteer. I will be out-of-town and unable to attend the memorial service, but my heart will be with her and her family.
