Katie Elizabeth Badgett

Katie Griffin Badgett, age 88 of Carthage died Friday, July 6, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Archie Stevens. The family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary.
A native of Surry County, she was the daughter of Charlie Griffin & Elizabeth Stanley Griffin. She retired from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in 1990 where she worked as a Diet Therapist for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Badgett; sister Vester Southern; brothers James and Worth Griffin.
She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Badgett of Carthage; three sisters, Joyce Thomas of Sanford, Ellen Williams of Sanford, Mary Ann (Edwin) Matthewson of West End.

I worked as a dietitian with Katie, and loved her like family. For many years, would go by the hospital to meet her for lunch even though i’d moved on. Wonderful, kind, and spunky friend. I’ll miss her.
We were so sorry to hear about Ms. Katie. She was so sweet and we enjoyed visiting her in the nursing home. We just loved her. She was a special lady.
