Katie Jean Hussey Spencer,  72 passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro,  NC.

 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend James Cockram and Reverend Arnold Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home.

 

Jean was a native of Moore County and a retired Teacher Assistant at Seagrove School. She loved her family and has been an excellent caregiver for twenty years to her husband. Jean loved to cook, travel and attend Southern Gospel concerts.   She grew beautiful flowers in her garden that everyone enjoyed.

 

Jean was a daughter of the late Willie and Rosie Williamson Hussey  and was preceded in death by sister: Doris Hussey Luck and brother: Billy Ray Hussey.

 

Jean is survived by her husband of  53 years Tracy Spencer; sons: Gary Lee Spencer and fiancee Teresa Godesky, of Asheboro; Bruce Spencer and wife Sharon, of Seagrove; grandson: Nathan Spencer; sisters: Coreen Hussey Luck and husband Harvey of Seagrove; Nell Hussey Brady, of Bennett; sister in law: Eva Davis and husband Pete, Bonnie Kennedy, Estelle Williams and husband Rufus, all of Seagrove.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Needhams Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 359 Needhams Grove Road, Seagrove, NC 27341
