I remember the day you were born. My first memory of you is mom and dad bringing you home to Grandma and Grandpas house. We lived there while dad was in Vietnam. They had 2 brown couches and everyone was taking turns holding you. I was so very excited, Dad came home and i had a brand new baby brother. Dad was taking pictures of you on the couch by the windows. For one picture he put his military hat on you, you were so small. I will have to ask mom if she still has those pictures. I know she still has the one of Great Grandma Smith holding you. Fast forward to me at 22 and you at 17. I came home on leave and you decided for some reason to pick me up and throw me over your shoulder. I was yelling at you to put me down and you would not. I was trying to talk to mom so you followed her from room to room with me over your shoulder for about half an hour. I could hardly believe how strong you were. A few years later you coined the term “manda-ism” and made a piece of pottery for her with all your favorites. I smile ever time i look at that piece. A few more years later i convinced you to start playing an online game with me and Guy. The 3 of us along with my 3 boys spent hours at a time on that game and on the phone. We did that for years. My very last time with you was yesterday. I finally got that rubber chicken we talked about for probably 20 years but i just couldn’t bring myself to whack you on the head with it. You won that round my dear brother and I am not surprised, you almost always do. Someday baby brat ( you taught me that is the russian word for brother) we will meet again that will be a happy day!
Was in Seagrove Saturday and learned of Greg’s passing. We have been collecting Rock House for 20 years and will miss our chats with him about politics, the economy and of course chickens. Rest in peace.
