Laney R. Marley, 87, of 7592 Highway 705, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Baaseiah Family Center in Biscoe.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Crossroads Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Holyfield and the Rev. Dave Wensil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Marley was a native of Moore County. He was a retired farmer and textile worker. He served in the US Army during World War II, where he received a purple heart. He was an avid hunter. A special thanks to his caregivers, Teresa Lewis and First Health Hospice.
Surviving are: wife, Nellie Maness Marley of the Baaseiah Family Center, son, Larry Marley and wife, Brenda of Eagle Springs, grandchild, Erik Marley and wife, Dawn of Eagle Springs, great-grandchildren, Bailea and Lana Marley of Eagle Springs, nephew, James L. Maness of Eagle Springs.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Kennedy Funeral Home, and all other times at the home.
