Larry Wayne Shepley, 67, passed away with his family at his bedside April 11,2021. 

Larry enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. He is survived by his wife Denise, of the home, his daughter Dawn Williams (Tim) of Sanford, his son Christopher Wayne Shepley of Carthage, his daughter Michelle Cucco of Carthage and son James T. Barron from Georgia. Larry has three sisters, Carolyn (Larry) McNeill, Brenda (Billy) Warf and Betty Jo Russell all from Carthage. He was also survived by seven grandsons and four granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. 

Larry was the light to any room and could make anyone laugh. He loved his Mountain Dew as much as he loved his family. He enjoyed his Sunday watching NASCAR, Denny Hamlin was his favorite. Larry’s love of his horse, family, cat and always telling funny jokes will always stay in our hearts. The world will never be the same without a man that would do anything to help anyone he could. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Lena Shepley and a grandson, Devyn McKay.

 A memorial service will be held at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, Friday April 16, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

  1. I will miss my dear friend. I will never forget how we could just talk for over a hour. He would just talk about the cat. You always made me smile. Thank you. I know that you are in a better place and God got you but it hurts because I never got the chance to talk to you one last time. I miss you and love you Larry. You where special to me.   3. A great coworker gone too soon. He would often go out of his way to talk to everyone he could that had a minute to spare. He would always have something to joke about and treated me and my fellow officers like a family. Reminded me of my own dad at times. Rest easy Larry.

  5. Larry was always a special family member to the Warf family as I grew up. Fond memories all those years ago. He will be missed. Rest in peace with your mom and dad.
