Lela Mae Reynolds

Lela Gibbons Reynolds 92, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016  at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.

A funeral service is planned for 3:00 PM, Friday, September 16, 2016 at New Home Baptist Church, Vass, NC, with the Reverend Trey Martin and David Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.

Lela was a native of Surry county but lived most of her life in Moore County. She raised tobacco, corn, wheat and other crops, on the family farm with her husband, Ray.  They later operated a country store.  Lela enjoyed quilting, coloring, and cooking for her family.  She loved the Lord and her church.  She looked for opportunities to help and serve others. She was a loving wife , mother and grandmother. Lela enjoyed caring for her home and her family.  Lela was a daughter of the late James Robert and Mary McGraw Gibbons. She was preceded in death by her husband; Ray Stoman Reynolds; son: Robert Stoman Reynolds; grandson: Robert Wayne Reynolds; brothers: Raymond Lee Gibbons and Winford Morton Gibbons; sisters: Etta Elizabeth Gibbons Dyson, Naomi Ruth Gibbons, Sylvia Gibbons Reynolds.

Lela is survived by daughters: Johnsie Marie Reynolds Cook; Gloria Jean Reynolds Key; son: Julian Reynolds; grandchildren: James Michael Cook, Kenneth Ray Key, Connie Elizabeth Reynolds, Kimberly Ann Oxendine, Cheryl Jean McInnis, Mark Evan Bean; great grandchildren: Holly Renee Reynolds, Robert Chad Reynolds, James Clifton Cook; great great grandchildren: Ben Reynolds and Jacob Cook; sister: Loreen Gibbons Key.
