Lester Dale Cockman 56, of Robbins, passed Friday, February 2, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

Funeral service is planned for 3:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Pleasant View Friends Church, Eagle Springs, NC officiated by Pastor Quint Dunlap and Reverend Jacelyn Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born April 5, 1961, Dale was the son of the late Lester and LaVerne Powers Cockman. He was a 1979 graduate of North Moore High School and served two enlistments in the North Carolina National Guard as a Communications Specialist.

Dale worked for many years for the North Carolina Department of Corrections and retired from the Moore County Sheriff’s Department as a Jailer.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling, shopping and socializing with family and friends. Dale was a faithful member of Pleasant View Friends Church.

Dale is survived by brother: Don Cockman and wife Tammy, of Camden, SC,  nephew: Jonathan Cockman of Columbia, SC; niece: Lindsay Cockman, of Charleston, SC; and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Friends Church at 13942 Hwy 24/27 Eagle Springs NC  27242
