Letty “Pebbles”, “Awahla” Shear, age 71, of Jamaica Queens, New York, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her home in Southern Pines.
Born on January 13, 1952; daughter of the late Alvin and Jean Letty Neal Fields.
Letty honorably served her country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years. She served at several duty stations eventually retiring out of MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, Florida before settling down in Moore County.
In addition to her parents, Letty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shear.
She is survived by her daughter; Jet Adala Veronica Fields of Durham, NC, and her brother; Alvin Fields Jr. of Bronx, NY.

May 2023 Letty Shear resigned from Mega Force in Southern Pines. This was indeed a bittersweet moment and tears were shed. She has worked with our mega force office since 2011. Associates like her that are dedicated to their job and has phenomenal work ethic are greatly appreciated and rare. We are thankful for the time of service you have given to Mega Force and the time we have spent to get to know each other. The Mega Force Team is greatly fortunate to have known the remarkable Letty Shear.
Mega Force Southern Pines was honored to have worked with Letty since 2011. Her dedicated work ethic and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and worked with her. Our deepest condolences go out to the entire family.
