Lewis Franklin Foster, 84, of Vass NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his home with his wife and family.

 

A funeral service will be held at Vass Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 3:00pm with the Reverend Wendell McGee and Reverend Jim Langford officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery in Vass.

 

Lewis was born on August 28, 1930 in Vass to the late Charlie and Lannie Foster.

He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a farm entrepreneur and an adventurous man. He loved the mountains and traveling with his family. God and his family were most important to him; he always was able to give the perfect words of advice that made each and everyone feel so special and comforted.  He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Foster and his sisters: Ruth Frye and Carol Allred.

 

He is survived by his wife, Edith Foster of 60 years, his five daughters: Teresa Foster Stocum (Fiancé Rudy Breighner) of Pinehurst, Cynthia Morgan (husband Bruce) of Vass, Belinda Bryant (husband Terry) of Carthage, Amey Womack (husband David) of Vass, and Beverly Adams (husband Bobby) of Southern Pines; grandchildren: Sarah Leviner, Jennifer Patnode, Candace Hylton, Robert Lassiter, Josh Womack, Stephanie Wood, Rebecca Bryant, Lewis Jacob Stocum, Christy Adams, Justin Lassiter, Eric Womack, Jacob Davis ; 15 great-grandchildren and his brother: Dennis Foster of Vass.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vass Presbyterian Church Building Fund, PO Box 548 Vass, NC 28394
