Linda Joan Stutts Long, age 79, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home in Bladenboro, NC.

Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 22, 1942, Linda was a daughter of the late George Leonard and Glennie Jane Adams Stutts. 

Linda was a loving soul who loved her family and friends dearly and would come to the aid of anyone who needed her selflessly. She loved her church, Old Carriage Baptist Church, and her church family led by Bill and Amy Harper.  She was and still is so loved. Her loving impact on all of us will remain for the rest of our lives.

Linda was preceded by her husband: James Milton Long; brother: Jimmy Stutts; her parents: George and Jane Stutts; and her Aunt: Pearl Reese, her sisters and brothers in law: Georgia and Paul Renn, Mary and Burnie Cain, Frankie Smith, Larry Long.

Linda is survived by: step-children: Sheila White, Mickey and Jane Long, Angie Long; brother and sister-in law: Tony and Johnnie Long, Diane Long, Kathy Rich and Virginia Deese; nieces: Camilla Stutts, Angela Stutts Mccrorey; grandchildren: CP White III and Erin White, Jerry Ray and Jami Burney, Jeffrey and Ashley Burney, Alicia and Charles Wimert, little Mic and Bridgette Long, Kendra and Brandon Bailey and a host of great grands nieces and nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 3 PM at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage, NC with Pastor Bill Harper officiating.

  1. Linda was such a special lady. I’m so thankful I got to know her at our church, Old Carriage Road Baptist. She baked a cake for my birthday my first year there. She made everyone feel special. She was loved and will be missed. I’m thankful to know she is Heaven because of her trust in Christ’s work on the cross. I’ll see her again. My sincere condolences to her family. I will be praying for you.
