Linda Sue Chriscoe

December 2, 1950 ~ August 28, 2023
Sue Chriscoe was born on December 2, 1950 in Randolph County to the late Glenn and Grace Yow. She fought a short, but courageous, battle against cancer and entered Heaven’s gate on August 28, 2023.
In addition to her parents and a brother, Sue was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Ed.
Ms. Sue, Mama Sue, Grandma Sue, as she was affectionately referred to by many, was a pillar of faith and love in her community. She dutifully served her Lord and was an active and loyal member of Bright Light Baptist Church. Sue also served her community as a parent, grandparent, and employee of Westmoore Elementary School. She, along with her dear husband Ed, was recently honored as a Westmoore Legend. Many staff, neighbors, and friends spoke fondly of Ms. Sue and shared how she touched their hearts and lives over the years. She was also involved in the establishment of Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department alongside Ed and worked tirelessly to fundraise and help it grow. You could often find Sue at a school or ball field cheering on her grandchildren; they were truly her pride and joy! Mama Sue left a trail of service, kindness, and prayers wherever she went.
Sue loved to garden, cook, can, work in the yard, and watch Carolina basketball. Above all, being with her family and friends is how Mama Sue loved to spend her time. She was a precious, loving, supportive, and proud Mama to Jamie and Justin, grandmother to Lindy (Jamie and Timmy), Dylan, Dustin, Dawson (Justin and Janet) and Tyler, Jordan, Carly, and Parker (Jamie and Chris). She was a loving and supportive mother-in-law to Chris and Janet. She was a cherished sister to Monroe, Cranford, and Marie. Sue also dearly loved her best friend, Rhonda Frye.
Ms. Sue also leaves behind countless children and families that she watched and prayed over throughout her years of welcoming friends of her kids and grandkids into her heart and home as if they were her own and serving at Westmoore Elementary.
Service will be 11 AM, Friday September 1, 2023 at Bright Light Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Jamie, Justin and family,
Kim and I are grieved for you all in your loss of Sue. A quiet, loving person with great concern for all she knew and met. Such a great encouragement to me. Always a loyal friend. She and Ed are two of the best people I have known. Sue loved you all more than life. She will be missed. May God cradle you all in His loving arms in your grief and in the days to come. We love you. Kim and Bruce Williams
Dear family I am so sorry for your loss. Sue was a special friend to me you felt loved when you were around her. We made many a hotdog together at Westmoore and had a lot of fun doing it. May God comfort you during this time and in the days ahead. Rest in the fact she’s in the arms of Jesus and healed. Love. Paula Lineberry
Sue was the best neighbor and friend that anyone could ask for. We will miss her beyond words.
